I started playing bass in high
school. It has fewer strings than a guitar, so I figured it was easy. And
because it looked cool, it would make up for all my shortcomings. That didn't quite
work out. One day I walked past a garage where some guys were jamming, including
Mike Nurre. The others were old geezers. Ironically, I am now the same age as
they were then. I ended up joining the group and we played country in biker bars all
over Delaware County. I made enough money to quit my job at Hardee's. After
high school I joined the Air Force and went to England. I got into British metal and
underground and played in several bands over there. When my tour was up I returned
to Iowa, studied engineering, quit playing, and found work out of state. I came back
to Iowa in 1998 and joined a blues band. I got fired from that band and right after,
Mike and Pete asked me to join their latest garage band along with a singer Mike
found. Whatever, anything to help my pal Mike. Wow, who knew?
